Organization and decorating made easy using wall hooks
Many of us are trying to get organized and tidy for the new year. An easy way to help get clutter off the floor and countertops is to use wall hooks, sometimes called robe hooks. Hooks can be used in almost any room of your home and can inject some real design appeal with all the hook collections My Cabinet Hardware offers!
In your mudroom, hall, or foyer, hooks are the perfect place to hang coats, backpacks, purses, scarves, keys, hats, etc. Put them by entry doors for convenience. Maybe even hang your reusable cloth bags on them so they're handy and accessible the next time you go to the store. Shown above is the Emerge hook by Amerock in Champagne Bronze.
In the kitchen, hooks can be used for kitchen towels, pot holders, aprons, even hang mops or brooms from them. Hang decorative pots, pans, colanders, or even a collection of antique kitchen tools from them. Hang a metal bucket from a wall hook installed close to your prep areas to free up drawer space. Put commonly used kitchen tools and appliances in the bucket to make grabbing them in a hurry easy! Hooks can even be used to hang a pretty collection of mugs. Shown above is the Vinland hook from Amerock in Satin Nickel. The cabinet pulls shown are from the Amerock Bar Pulls collection.
Hooks in the bathroom can range from the obvious to unique ideas. Hang towels and robes to help them dry and stay smelling fresh. Wall hooks can be used for shower caps, sponges, loofas, or hang some of your toiletries in a basket to keep them off your counter. Try hanging small potted plants from them or even hang wet swimsuits or hand-washed delicates to help them dry faster. Shown above is the Bronx collection hook by Amerock in Golden Champagne. Love the pulls on the vanity and the towel ring? They are from the Esquire collection.
In the living room, hang throw blankets from hooks. Not only does this make them easily accessible, but it can also help dress up a boring wall. You can also hang pictures or art pieces from them to create a gallery wall. Tie ribbon or twine from the picture hanger and hang on the installed hook. Shown above is the Prismo hook from Amerock in Polished Chrome. The pull shown on the desk is from the Destine collection.
In the closets, use hooks for hats, purses, scarves, and even jewelry like bracelets and necklaces. Another use is to hang clothes that have been worn, but aren't ready to be washed yet. Even shoes can be hung from hooks! Shown above are the Ryland collection's Hillman hook by Top Knobs in Honey Bronze.
Home office's can use hooks to hang headphones, office supplies placed in a basket, hang work bags, jackets, or even a collection of antique pieces like old cameras. Anne at Home creates decorative and unique hooks that are not only functional, but are like pieces of wall art themselves.
In kids playrooms or homeschooling areas, install alphabet letter hooks from Buck Snort Lodge. Each child can find and use their own initial hook for backpacks, hanging folders, or jump ropes.
In the bedroom, hang your robe close to the bed or hang an eye mask to be in easy reach when you are ready to sleep. Install wall hooks as curtain holders by using a decorative rope or piece of ribbon to help keep your curtains open. Use hooks to help make the mornings quicker with your clothes for the next day already out. A wall hook can even be used to display a gorgeous dress. Shown above is the Noble hook from Amerock in Matte Black.
At Christmas time, wall hooks can make excellent stocking holders or used for hanging garlands or swags!
Have a pet washing area? Use wall hooks to hang leashes or towels from. Shown above is the Vicinity hook from Amerock in Champagne Bronze. The cabinet pulls shown are from the Versa collection by Amerock.
